Mediterranean Destinations
If your ready for a Mediterranean vacation, these 3 locations will knock your socks off!
Zakynthos - Called the “Flower of the East” by Venetians, this beautiful place is a fertile island, with many olive trees, vineyards and beaches that offer visitors an authentic Greek experience and vibrant nightlife. It has been conquered by the Venetians and even though most of its buildings were destroyed in 1953 by an earthquake, the island’s main city bears a striking resemblance to Venice’s San Marco square. The largest of all Ionian Greek Islands is home to Loggerhead Turtles, endangered species that come to here to lay their eggs. You can see this fascinating show of nature, go snorkeling or scuba diving to explore the underwater caves.
Mykonos - We’ve written about this destination before and it would be a shame to exclude Greece’s most cosmopolitan island from this list. Mykonos is the place where you can party from sunset to sunrise, all between relaxing, enhancing your tan and just enjoying Greek life.
Taormina - Also known as the Sicilian Monte Carlo, Taormina is a very popular and fashionable resort located on Sicily’s east coast. With a long history of invasions by several groups, the island offers visitors fascinating architecture, among which is the Greek Theatre of Taormina – one of the most famous relics in Sicily. Its cafes, ice-cream bars and restaurants give your taste buds a delicious sample of Italian life. Taormina’s churches, houses and winding streets still have a medieval feel, while the castle in Castelmola offers spectacular views of the city.
