These dream like visuals come courtesy of Mount Roraima,the highest of the Pakaraima mountain chain in South America.

The 31 square kilometer summit area is defined by 400 meter tall cliffs on all sides and includes the borders of Brazil, Venezuela, and Guyana. The tabletop mountains of the Pakaraima’s are considered some of the oldest geological formations on Earth, dating back to some two billion years ago.

The extraordinary mountain landscape are reachable via guided hiking/climbing tours, which can take up to five days, while weather permitting (since it rains nearly every day on the mountain), the more impatient travelers can reach the summit via helicopter.

No wonder Disney sent Pixar employees there in an attempt to inspire them before creation of their animated feature “Up”…this place is absolutely awe-inspiring.
