Is this the biological proof we needed for the real world existence of one of the most beloved video game characters of our time?
Not quite. Dubbed by artist Kalapusa as a “Pakku rotundus specimen”, the amazingly life like sculpture is part of a series of old school video game themed sculptures he has been showing off to the world of late.
Kapalusa describes each iconic piece as being reinterpreted through the prism of real-life anatomy. His works are initially fashioned from clay before being layered with acrylic paints and resin based sealants to give the appearance of a once living organism preserved in formaldehyde.
Whatever his methods are, he is sitting on a goldmine of nostalgia for the gaming generation, who, after finally growing up and getting real jobs, have the money to pay exorbitant prices to own.
