This snakeskin nail polish puts the $ in $nakeskin, as the painstaking process sets each buyer back a cool $300. Yet for many fashionistas obsessed with one upping the latest trendsetters, this is a small price to pay for truly standing out.
Creative entrepreneur Terri Silacci, of Monterey, California, uses naturally shed snake skins, and carefully cuts them into custom nail-shaped sizes, before affixing them with a traditional gel manicure technique, and hardening them with UV light.
Ms. Silacci claims that her manicures can last up to three weeks, while pedicures can have you looking a touch reptilian for almost three months.
The enterprising mother turned snake handler told the Today show that she became inspired when her son used snakeskin in a school science project. She also loves to offer her well though out slogan - ‘One snake’s trash is a toenail’s treasure.
